As a member of the board, a Governor acts in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization.
In general, Governors must:
- Be active, involved, and participative;
- Know and respect appropriate lines of communication and reporting relationships;
- Be informed and prepared for all meetings; and
- Maintain board confidentiality.
